Introduction
If you are planning a visit to France’s Eiffel Tower, Germany’s swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonie, Sao Jorge Castle, Rome’s Colosseum, Italy’s Venice’s canals and San Marco Square, then you have to go through the dreaded nightmare of amassing a colossal amount of documents for visa paperwork before experiencing the fun part. And usually, No Objection Letter for Schengen Visa or No Objection Certificate (NOC) remains one of the key document that stands between rejection and approval.
But there is no reason to panic. Because we’ve got you covered in this article.
What is No Objection Certificate?
A formal letter issued by applicant’s employer, school or university stating that the applicant has a commitment (be it long-term or short-term) that he/she can’t afford to abandon and hence, the applicant will return to his/her home country once visa’s period expires.
NOL is mandatory in some countries but is usually optional in others.
In one way or other, NOC assures diplomatic staffers that applicant has intentions to return to his/her country after expiry of the visa period. Such an assurance becomes a vital part of visa approval as Europe continues to face immigration problem causing political and social unrest among member states of the Schengen Area.
Types of No Objection Certificates
Usually, there are two types of No Objection Letters. These are:
NOC for employees
NOC for students
For employees, employer issues NOC for the applicant on behalf of the company. In this document, the employer usually ensures visa officer that employee has commitments or obligations in his/her home country and to fulfill them, latter would return back to the home destination. The employer can also assure a visa officer that applicant is financially able to support himself/herself during the course of stay in the Schengen state/states.
In the case of students, an employee of university/college/school usually pens NOC. The employee can be head of department, dean, or the advisor. NOC states that the applicant is enrolled in varsity/college/school and are bound to return to the home country to complete his/her education.
Process of Acquiring No Objection Certificates
For employees, the process isn’t complicated at all. The applicant can simply approach you’re his/her employer and request for NOC. The odds of denial are almost zero provided his/her leave application is approved.
If you’re a student and you’re traveling the Schengen state/states during university’s break, then you can simply approach the person concerned to acquire NOC for visa application.
Format of No Objection Certificate
Following things must be kept in mind while writing a NOC:
- Keep it formal
